Day 9 - Fairlie -> Lake Pukaki -> Lake Ohau -> Omarama -> Cromwell -> Alexandra -> Pinder Pond

Some light rain overnight means packing damp tents.
Skies clearing as we leave heading for Lake Pukaki.
Weather improves and we are blessed with great views of Mt. Cook and surrounding alps as we approach Lake Pukaki.
Morning coffee on the shores of the lake looking straight up the valley to Mt. Cook. Our tranquility interrupted by a bus load of tourists disgorging themselves at our view point for the regulation 5 minute photo opportunity.
On to Twizel for more hot smoked salmon for lunch. Lunch back at Lake Ohau where we'd stopped on day 3. (Seems like ages ago!)
Omarama for fuel then on to Cromwell via Lindis Pass, even better riding on the second occasion.
Good coffee shop in Cromwell with free WiFi.
From Cromwell we proceed down the Clutha River valley. Past Clyde stopping at Alexandra for provisions for dinner. Last 40 km down to Roxburgh provides more spectacular riding!
Camp at Ponder Pond.
Another excellent days riding. Happy souls are we. Full bellies and a dram of scotch to celebrate the day!
